Wendy, of The Cottage Kitchen and Barb and Mike, owners of Oley Valley Organics farm and store, will share their knowledge about the ancient craft of fermenting foods. With a foundation of basic knowledge, anyone can create pickles, sauerkraut, kimchee, and much, much more. As winter approaches, it’s great to take advantage of this technique developed for preserving vegetables that also happens to create unique and delicious flavors. In class, we’ll create the beginnings of a sauerkraut for each student to take home; we’ll provide the (organic) cabbage!
