Join us in the Clay on Main galleries as we invite local artists and friends of Clay on Main who have previously shown within our walls to exhibit work that focuses on the treatment and application of ‘surface’. Exhibiting artists will include, Mary Ann Conway, Rhonda Counts, Lisa Gauker, Dolores Kirschner, Pirjo L’Esperance, Ron Schira, and Joshua Steffy and includes works of ceramics, painting, encaustic, and photography- all showcasing the different approaches to creating surface.
Opening Exhibition runs from 4-6pm.
Show runs May 20th- June 17th.
Working with fused glass is easy and rewarding. Max Rhoads will lead you through a simple, intuitive process that is accessible to ages 4 and above and all skill levels. Clay on Main will fire your ornaments into a colorful, translucent pendant or broach, to be picked up later. This workshop is perfect for creating gifts, or for just spending some quality time with a loved one. 🙂

Join Sandra Britland as she guides you through the process of using wool to felt in different applications. You will create a piece working with wet felt to create embellishments, use needles to add more decorations, and finally prepare your piece as a finished product. These two sessions complete the Felting Basics 4 Part Series, but drop-ins are welcome. No experience necessary, all tools and materials provided.

Come create a luminous and functional work of art. Max Rhoads will lead you through the process of using brightly colored glass to create simple patterns. All work is done at room temperature and is accessible to students ages 4 and up of all skill levels. Your creations will be fired and available for later pickup. Fused glass creations are utterly lovely with an inviting surface – you’re sure to be pleased!

Creating arts and crafts is a wonderful way to spend time with friends and family. Clay on Main can schedule a time for your group to come out to our studio, where our skilled instructors will guide you through a simple and fun activity. In addition to enjoying some good company, you and your guests will learn and new skill and get to take home a beautiful handmade work of art. We can work in ceramics, fused glass, and felt, so you can choose the medium that suits you best. The fee is $20 per person for the two-hour session ($100 minimum), and includes materials. Paper is simple to make using recycled materials and found objects like flowers and leaves. Come practice the craft of papermaking and bring home some lovely stationary!
